What is Christian Family Life Services?

Christian Family Life Services (CFLS) is a nonprofit child placing agency licensed in the states of North Dakota and Minnesota. Founded in 1985, the mission of CFLS is to assist birth parents in an unplanned pregnancy situation who are considering making an adoption plan for their child, and to place those children released for adoption in loving, stable Christian homes.

CFLS believes that all life is precious, that no life is a mistake, and that every child conceived has the right to be loved, valued, and provided for.

It is the belief of CFLS that adoption can meet the needs of all members of the adoption triad: the need of the child (for a stable two parent family), the need of the birth parents (for the freedom to go on with their life plans, knowing that they have provided responsibly for the needs of their child), and the need of the adoptive family (for a child that they are unable to parent biologically).

What services do we offer?

To the child:
CFLS is committed to placing children in carefully screened Christian homes where they will be nourished and cared for by parents who have the ability to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

To the adoptive parents:
CFLS offers North Dakota and Minnesota couples the opportunity to begin or complete a family through adoption. We assist adoptive couples in wading through the complicated adoption process by providing adoptive home assessments, information on adoption dynamics, and supervisory services to bring an adoption to completion. CFLS complies with all legal requirements in order to ensure a secure, permanent adoptive placement. CFLS also offers home assessments and post-placement services to couples seeking to adopt internationally through other agencies.

To the birth parents:
Adoption gives birth parents the opportunity to offer their child a stable, secure home that includes a mother and a father. It allows them to move ahead with their life plan with confidence that they have made a responsible and loving plan for their baby.

CFLS offers birth parents the opportunity to select and meet the family they choose to raise their child. They may also receive letters and pictures from the adoptive family and meet with them and the baby after the placement.

We offer birth parents free, confidential decision counseling. Our staff combines professional integrity with compassionate support during this often difficult time.
