Christian Adoption Services offers our past clients Post-Adoption Search and Disclosure services to assist adopted adults, birth siblings, and birth parents in establishing a mutually agreed upon relationship with one another. Search and reunion will have a significant impact on your life, as well as on the lives of many others involved. It is normal and expected to have many questions and a wide range of emotions, such as excitement, anxiety, fear, and impatience. Our staff is prepared to assist and support you as you inquire and start the Search process.
Who May Search?
Because CAS is a licensed adoption agency in both states of North Dakota and Minnesota, we are also able to conduct searches for our clients in both states. Adopted adults, birth siblings, and birth parents are all able to initiate a search; however, the age at which Search can legally be done varies from state to state. Please contact our agency to find out which state laws apply to your particular case. You can also learn more about the laws in both ND & MN by viewing the FAQs pages below.
*Please note: The individual being searched for has the right to have direct or indirect contact with you, as well as the right to decline this contact. If contact is declined, we are not able to reimburse the required fee. However, we will certainly encourage the individual to at least provide an update of medical information and write a letter explaining why he/she does not feel ready or comfortable to have contact.
